Kaiya's First Christmas

Well, Christmas 2007 was a new experience for us, everything was more fun (and more hectic) with Kaiya around! Here are some of the highlights:

Of course we had to take Kaiya to have her picture taken with Santa! We took the whole peanut gallery for their first official photo shoot. Kaiya also had her first cold at the same time, so although she wasn't her usual self, she was still such a sweetheart.

Here we are in line with Grandma:

And here she is with the big guy himself!

Of course we had to have our annual Christmas Ladies Lunch at the Zodiac Room in the original Neiman Marcus Store in Downtown Dallas. Here we all are: me, GiGi (that's Great Grandma Marinelli) Kaiya and Grandma, at Kaiya's first official luncheon!

Christmas Eve everybody came over to our house and we had appetizer dinner and played skip-bo until it was almost time for Santa to come.

Here are Kaiya and GiGi on Christmas Eve

But of course the fun was just starting because Christmas morning was more fun than it has been in years.

Here are my two favorite people in the whole wide world enjoying our first Christmas with Kaiya

Another nice thing about having an infant at Christmas time is that you don't even need to make them any Christmas Goodies, they make their own yummy Christmas treats

After we had Christmas at our house we went over to Buddy & Grandma's and had Christmas there. It was so much fun, and took for ever, because Kaiya got to open her own gifts, and had to take a nap break in the middle too.

But after all the hubbub of cooking and shopping and wrapping, in the end, Christmas is about being with the ones you love.
